This is your landing page for the Fancy Firefly Consignment Sales

What is a Consignment Sale?

A consignment sale is a fun event where buyers and sellers meet. The Fancy Firefly specializes in Kids and Moms items, but there are other kinds of consignment sales.

The Fancy Firefly allows buyers to get a lot of fun, needed items for a discount price, and also, allows sellers to make a little money, so it’s Win-Win.

The Venue

The Venue and Dates of the sale will be available on the Newsletter. Watch this space for the exact date and place. It’s going to be at a site in the Madison/Monroe/Social Circle/Monticello area.

Sellers

Sellers are people who have items to sell. Example: A lot of experienced moms have baby clothes, strollers, car seats and other items that their kids have outgrown, and they’d love to get money for.

To be a seller at the Fancy Firefly, you’ll have to register. You can download a registration form here: Email it to Ellieart7@gmail.com

Once you’ve submitted the required information and you’ll be given a Vendor ID number, and get the FF Inventory Excel sheet to record the items that they’re planning to sell.

You can add more items until the sale closes.

When you return your inventory sheet to

Ellieart7@gmail.com

You’ll be sent a set of labels for you to attach to your items. You’re going to have to print the labels out in hard copy form. They have a barcode, a description, and the price for your item that you select. This barcode will be used at the sale to complete the transaction. You can print the barcode on a standard printer. It’s best if you use heavier paper, like a card stock, and the preferred method of attachment is a safety pin or zip tie. Ask for more information about preparing your labels. Once you print your labels they’re easy to cut out and attach to your items.

Seller Fee

We’re charging a $10 seller fee for all sellers to pay for overhead. Our experienced sellers can make up to $1000 in a three day sale, and 95% of our sellers make this back without a problem. We’re using this to pay for the room, security, Stripe machine and other supplies.

Commissions

At the end of the sale, we’ll pay the sellers the sale price, minus 30% commission. So if you sell $100 worth of items, you’ll be paid $70. This is a better commission rate than the other consignment companies in the area, and helps us grow and encourage buyers and sellers to participate next time.

Payments

Generally, we accept cash, check, PayPal, Venmo and Cash App. This goes for payments from the customers to the management, and also payments from management to the sellers. Sellers will be able to select their method of payment when they register. Customers will select their method of payment when they buy their items.

Sales Taxes

We’ll collect sales taxes at the time of the sale to the customers.

Volunteers

You can become a volunteer to help run the sale, run the cash registers, and help answer questions from the excited shoppers. Why would you want to volunteer? Well, there’s a “volunteer only” special head start so that you get your choice of the nice items. Also, the volunteers get a special commission rate. Check with the sale management for more detail on this. We love our volunteers, and want them to work with us often.

Sale Weekend Schedule

Sales are held on Friday through Sunday for now. The exact dates and sale schedules will be sent to all sellers and buyers. Right now the tentative schedule is as follows:

Friday morning: Sellers are admitted to the venue to display their items, prior to the sale.

Friday afternoon: Volunteers get first choice of the consignment items, before the doors open.

Friday afternoon: The excitement beings. Buyers arrive, the transactions begin. Have fun and find bargains.

Saturday: A full day of excitement, buying and selling items.

Sunday Afternoon: Discount time. The management may announce a discounted rate for selected items still remaining in the sale. This will go until Sale Close on Sunday, late afternoon.

Post-Sale: Sellers will receive instructions via Email as to when to pick up the items that are not being donated. Sellers will be able to select items to be donated, and those which will need to be picked up. Sellers will get a list of remaining items to pick up and be given pickup instructinos.

When the results are tabulated, usually within a couple days of the sale, the sellers will get their payments.
